A test was done about four or five yrs back by a cannery in SE Alaska utilizing a tote ( about two hundred pounds) of pink salmon that was washed & iced in ozone treated water. A like tote of untreated fish was placed in the same "cool" room & comparisons were made over the next two weeks (+ or -). The treated fish was still in excellent enough shape, with low enough bacterial counts that would allow it to be frozen & marketed. The other untreated tote was wasted w/very high bacterial counts & had to be trashed. The upshot was that the cannery utilized the process until they had to shut their doors due to competition from farm raised salmon & declining runs...at least that's the understanding I got when I spoke with one of the fishermen who sold his fish to the co.
