GREER, S.C., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- California Pro Sports, Inc., (Nasdaq: CALP) announced today the expected release date for ImaginOn's WebZinger for Kids web browser in August, 1998.
The WebZinger for Kids browser is the first Internet safe browser developed specifically to restrict children's access to adverse and obscene material on the Internet. The WebZinger for Kids Browser has been demonstrated for educational consultants and school administrators recently and will be the first stand-alone child safe Internet access product available.
This proprietary software system was developed by ImaginOn of San Carlos, California. The WebZinger system is a 100% Java application that uses Sun Microsystems' "HotJava", which is a significant improvement over current browser technology. The WebZinger for Kids software allows children to "search and surf" on any appropriate topic, while at the same time providing parents and school administrators peach of mind, knowing that undesirable material will not get through ImaginOn's system. "WebZinger for Kids is a complete system combining searching and browsing based on our new real-time filtering technology that does not depend on website lists or ratings. Kids get freedom to roam the 'net, safely," said David Schwartz, President and CEO of ImaginOn, Inc.
ImaginOn and California Pro Sports have announced the pending merger of their firms. ImaginOn Based in San Carlos, CA is a developer of proprietary software for CD Rom, network and Internet users. ImaginOn is the developer of the WebZinger and WorldCities 2000 lines of software products. |
