Why the world should feel uneasy about the possibility of a civil
war (or unrest) in Russia:

Current political problems:

1) The communists and Kremlin united their resources to
stop general Lebed from winning the governor seat in Siberia and
failed. Lebed said to head the "party" of those who hate the current
regime. Apparently, enough of those to get him elected. Currently
there is no strong leader to replace Yeltsin. Yeltsin is very unlikely to win the next term even if he tries.

2) The miners blocked major railways for months over wage
non-payment causing a lot of damage.

3) The south region near Chechnya is almost in civil war. Conflicts
abound.
