It ended 2-2 - very good game - tell me something - the hand ball was unintentional - didn't the ref have the discretion to award a direct kick from the spot of the fowl if he wanted to - the ref. did not do such a good job I thought.
Yes, absolutely, see this: #reply-4821402
The Italians must build a monument to this referee, or submit a petition to the Vatican to make him a Saint...
Otherwise they would have lost.
As George says, this the typical Italian Job, the first games are played as if they suffer from brain damage, and then all of a sudden they are in the semis...
If Cameroon plays the way I suspect they will, then Italy is going to have to improve to beat them.
Austria is an enigma to me, they play strong as all Europeans do, but frankly I have not seen them so I can not really say much.
I am very impressed with the quality of play, I am certain that the rules must have something to do they seem to be playing very clean, not much acting (except for today's performance by Rojas), he will get an Oscar nomination for it.
I am curious to see the Bulgarians, in the past they have been the meanest bastards ever, they took Pel‚ out in England in 66 and then more recently (I forget when and against who), but they were really played dirty.
I think Salas is a more dangerous striker than Hadji, both very good, but Salas seems to be more in the right place.
Yes excellent games, it seems to be getting better, The level of quality seems to be much higher than in past tournaments, and the teams are more even, (at least do far).
Let's hope that Cameroon -vs- Austria is even better.
