Microkey Announces Initial Distribution
of its Advanced Voice Telephony Software
and Unveils Internet Speed Dialing Capability

Mass Distribution Scheduled for late June, following Beta Release

Microkey Communication System's wholly owned subsidiary, the SwitchBoard SevenO Development Corp (SwB7) today announced that its SwB7 Advanced Voice Telephony (AVT) software, which has been licensed for bundling with certain ISDN modems, is undergoing initial distribution, with mass distribution scheduled to begin in late June.

SwB7 also unveiled its multi-media communications software, SwB7 AVT MultiCOM. The Company believes that this software provides the first capability for speed dialing an Internet Connection as well as speed dialing normal phone calls. SwB7 AVT also provides the first capability to receive Caller ID and answer phone calls while connected to the Internet using an external modem. The release of AVT MultiCOM completes the first phase of the Company's plan for integration of Internet telephony with normal telephony and remote data access over a single phone line.

SwB7's AVT software provides such advanced features as caller ID, speed dialing, call redial and return, and feature buttons for call hold, drop, transfer and conference on a Virtual Telephone that is displayed on the PC screen. This software, together with MultiCOM enabling firmware, is expected to enter mass distribution channels later this month. With each new modem and on the Internet, the modem manufacturer has agreed to distribute the Company's offer to activate the SwB7 AVT MultiCOM capabilities over the Internet (or by mail), for a $29 fee that is retained in full by the Company. Since virtually all ISDN modem users are on the Internet, the Company believes that this low cost and convenient enabling will result in a high volume of sales with very high profit margins. The Company's secure Internet server is in place to process these orders.

"SwB7 AVT MultiCOM is the first true, multi-media communications package. It provides a business telephone, caller identification, and Internet access simultaneously over a single phone line and with the same, familiar speed dialing of any data, voice or FAX connection." said Stephen Messina, CEO of Microkey. "Anyone who can use a telephone, will be able to use all of the extensive AVT MultiCOM capabilities. Soon we will be adding a series of upgrades, including integrated tracking of all voice, FAX and data communication.", he added.

The Company believes that the time is now ripe for also integrating Internet Telephony into the Virtual Telephone's multi-media capabilities. With the advent of Always On technology (already available at low cost from Pacific Bell), Internet Telephone calls can be received without a connection to the Internet, making Internet Telephony far more versatile. The Company also plans to extend SwB7 AVT MultiCOM to LAN and VPN environments to make multi-user and distributed office systems affordable for the smaller business. "I believe that we are poised for a radical growth in ISDN service since it is the only fully deployed, ubiquitous service capable of higher speed Internet access and reliable, secure, high quality telephone service. The Always On Technology will be the cap which will make ISDN the only logical choice for SOHOs to integrate affordable Internet Telephony with their other communications.", said Messina.
