Hi James,

Unfortunately, block trades can be deceptive. Generally one assumes that a trade at the ask is a buy. They can also be prearranged trades, exercise of options, MMs moving inventory around, as well as sales. It doesn't hurt to keep an eye on block trades but when stocks move hot and heavy it's when you see tons of 1K trades hitting the screen one after another. A lot of 1K trades is an indication that SOES players are on a run with market orders. The big moves happen with a lot of market orders. When volume is low and you see quite a few orders going across between the spread, with occasional block trades, don't expect a whole lot of volatility. Most of the orders are being placed with limits in a fairly narrow spread. MMs make the big bucks on high volume. When volume dries up in one direction or the other, you can usually expect a reversal.

I think we'll see a tech rebound with the release of Windows 98. Lots of fluff about everyone needing a new computer with the new OS. This is a good time to relax, avoid depression, pick your targets and stick to the plan.

Regards,

Don
