Novell owes the stockholders an explanation for the SEC filing

They have to say something and say it before the earnings report.
We should press them for comment on Monday by calling them if nothing appears in the morning press.

My gut feelings are making me sick.
They file a poison pill a few days before earnings.

Could it be that a hostile takeover just occurred to them? I doubt it.
Could it be that they see a threat coming. Sounds like it.

Why now?
The stock has trading narrowly at current levels for some time.
So why did they wait? Why does management do the SEC filing JUST BEFORE EARNINGS?

A good earnings report would lift the price of the stock, thus lessening a takeover threat, plus bolster Marengi.

That only leaves the opposite possibility of disappointing earnings which would leave Novell exposed to a dirt cheap hostile takeover.

I hope I'm really really wrong! but my gut feeling is its a defensive move because of bad earnings.
