Guess who got lucky???

I had a wild hair to phone the company expecting no answer. Wrong indeed. Amazing what a fluke call will do looking for information on what shares insiders and institutions hold. I recognized the voice on the other end but wasnt exactally sure if it was who I thought it was. Well it was our beloved CEO Noam Lotan. This is the second opportunity I have had to speak with him and I cant believe how everything is put in perspective for me now.

I asked about the report that Dan posted on the board along with his response. He essentially said as we have that the report is loaded with mis-information. He did mention one point that was accurate. It was the part about current assets growing from 80k to ??(I forgot the number). He mentioned that the company had some prepays of taxes, vendors, trade shows, and shared technology with the Israeli government along with others including parts related to the Fibronics acquisition that would explain this. He also mentioned that they passed the report on to the board of directors. They responded by saying this is great. We have to set up our monthly newsletters the same way. (In my words they fully realized it was a load of crap)

What kind of impact did the MegaSwitch 2 have in the third quarter? He responded that the company was pleased with the growth of the MegaSwitch 2 in the third quarter.

In the conference call you mentioned a goal of the company is to triple the sales of the MegaSwitch 2 in the 4th Q. Is there anything that may stand in your way? He said there were obstacles but that everything is moving very nice right now with production and sales.

Is everything still moving forward as you have expected with Intel and Fujitsu? Everything has been just fine. He explained all he is allowed to explain about the two companies regarding the market the two are shooting for and the chances of a continued relationship.

You mentioned in the conference call that you would much rather manufacture and sell directly vs. an OEM relationship. Would you entertain the possibility of another OEM? Yes,it is possible, however it is important to us that we get the brand recognition that we desire and that cant be obtained by an OEM relationship.

Is one of the company's goals right now to attract recognition in the marketplace through PR? Our main priority is to be the leader in the high speed fast ethernet area. But we are interested in being covered. I am not sure if you could consider that a priority of the company. (He detailed this, but I dont feel it my place to mention anything other than it is being worked on. If your wondering....... there is no inside information I received)

It appears that MRVC is shooting hard for the CATV and Telephony arena. Am I reading this correctly? Yes it is. He detailed his response but there is no way I can do it justice. He also mentioned some of the difficulties associated with this. One being resistance from outside companies that arent their competition. eg. telephone companies.

There were a lot more questions I asked and I fully undersatnd that I could not begin to do MRVC or Noam justice trying to keep up with any techniacl information or future long term goals of the company. I do believe that many of the items in here are being accomplished. When we discussed the competition he again laid out their desire to remain at the lead of technological advances. R&D is still a vital link to MRVC. As we interpreted, Fibronics will be a vital key to growing MRVC's market share along with an expanded product line. This acquisition is far more important than I ever would have given credit. When I asked if the company would entertain another acquisition, Noam responded that they really do not have the desire to grow by acquisition. He also mentioned the fit of Fibronics to MRVC. Quite a deal indeed.

I guess I lucked out considering I caught Noam right before a meeting. It says a lot when a CEO will speak for a half hour with an investor of the company. He could have gladly passed me along to someone else or disregarded the call completely. I am very appreciative that he took the time, on a Sunday to boot, to go over this information with me. Still impresses me to see the CEO working on Sunday. Again I hope I did Noam and the company justice in this post. I wish I was faster writing my notes, I would have had a lot more to discuss.

Regards,
Sam
