irst off, the Internet is not a threat in any way to Windows. If anything, it has increased sales for Microsoft.
It is a threat because people do _not_ need widnows to function on the web, Ecommerce, where the fat is, doesn't care about windows.
Secondly, I think Gates is perfectly capable of admitting fault, as long as that admission came with a big fat check. If he has to swallow his pride and do stuff in Pure Java, he'll only do so when he can make billions of dollars from it.
TOTAL AGREEMENT HERE. Only problem is, as I stated before, is, windows get amrginalized and out of the picture with pure java and open standards in general. Bill Gates has to yet figure out a balance. I bet you his billions, he will embrace pure java if it generates more billions. He's shrewd. For all I and you know, he's secretly re-writing windows/office in java!!. |
