the pink mm's still get their spread.

As explained to me, as jd2 said the pink sheet mm's manually match buyers and sellers and they get the spread. The mm's will not buy your stock at any price until they have a buyer willing to pay enough to make them a profit. Therefore, the way I understand it, until someone puts in a order to buy for more than .50 the most we could sell for would be around .25. Presently a market sell order will get you about .1875 or less and a market buy means you will pay .50. Depending on your broker, on a buy you may do a little better but I doubt you will beat .25 on a sell.

This is the way a broker friend explained it to me and it make sense in watching the trades. If I am missing something please let me know.
