Jon,
A shorter "sells" into a rising stock price, borrowed shares, close to an "unpredictable" top, or so we would ordinarily believe, hoping he can stem the tide, turn the direction, continue to sell to a predetermined price as it goes down.
Hopefully for the shorter the downward price has enough downward momentum to keep going into the cellar where the shorter has all the buyers scared sh==less to keep them from buying again. All the buyers except one... himself.
Now with that said, wouldn't it be nice if at some "appropriate moment/day or so," a negative review, say for example, only example mind you, like the ones The Stock Detective does, is simultaenously published on the web and exacerbates and accelerates the downward momentum so as to "guarantee" you will be virtually the ONLY buyer of magnitude and at an incredibly LOW price so as to pay back the more expensive shares you sold short with the newly acquired dirt cheap shares? Whew..
Simple... no,
