It's definitely a religious war ...

Many people have strong opinions about the DOJ case against Microsoft and they obviously haven't read the charges. I'll say it again. Read the following press release or the complaint. It isn't that long.

usdoj.gov

The complaint against Microsoft has nothing to do with their success. It has to do with the tactics they allegedly used to leverage that success.

It is interesting. I don't even care how the DOJ case turns out. By the time a decision is reached the point will be moot. The damage is already done to some companies legally or illegally.

Microsoft's problem is not the DOJ. There are better operating systems, better applications and better browsers in the world. And they're cheaper if not FREE. Better software will continue to be written. As much as Bill would like to control all of the software in the world and hire all of the best programmers ... he simply can't.

I'm going to use Linux, Applix Office Suite and Netscape Navigator. Many people will continue to use Windows, Office and Explorer. I use Microsoft products at work. I've always preferred Excel to WingZ. I like having the choice.

Read the book. Read the press release. Form your own opinion. Worship a real deity.

Best of luck.
