BTW, had a beer (or two) last night with a former DB staffer who gave a different spin on DB's attitude towards SUF. The fact is that DB execs have been really upset with SUF hiring 40+ DB employees in the past. (This had been referred to obliquely in earlier posts but not fully discussed.)DB has gone so far as to give raises to current employees to entice them to stay with DB (not many had pay hikes prior to SUF's arrival on the diamond scene...) Those who joined SUF did so because of the opportunities, better pay and a lot of other intangibles which make their lives more comfortable in Canada. This, according to the former DB engineer who now works for another mining company in Canada, is one of the reason DB is playing hardball with CJ. Wonder if Gull had a pay increase lately, or did the pay hikes go to "professional" people only?
Regards.
