We are too smug IMO. << This was the same sentiment in Japan when they were the masters of the universe in the mid 80s; when it appeared that they were buying all of the big name property in the USA from Rockefeller Center to Pebble Beach. Many in the USA were proclaiming the Japanese invasion and how they were going to run the world and how they could do not wrong. Look at it now. Japan is in recession and all of Asia will eventually follow suit. But, the Dow appears unaffected as it opens up, smugly, 6 points.
