PLFM's Airborne Relay Communications System Receives Rave Reviews From Latin
American Industry and Government

Business Editors and High-Tech Writers

REDLANDS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 1998--Howard A.
Foote, president and chief executive officer of Platforms
International Corp. (OTC/BB:PLFM), Friday announced the successful
conclusion of the first round of negotiations for the licensing of
PLFM's Airborne Relay Communications (ARC) System technology to a
major Latin American telecommunications company.
Following the negotiations that began at the history-making test
and validation of the operational status and reliability of PLFM's ARC
System, which took place in San Diego on May 1, 1998, (refer to PLFM's
Web site, www.platforms-intl.com, under May 1, 1998, "Communications
System Demonstration" for details) a U.S. delegation representing
Platform's technology met with high-ranking officials from the
government, military and telecommunications industry of certain Latin
American countries to discuss the acquisition and implementation of
PLFM's wireless communications system technology, which Platforms
believes could revolutionize the mobile telephone and data
communications industries.
"We are pleased with the pace and progress of our Latin American
negotiation," stated Foote.
David Fawcett, vice president of program development, stated:
"While we continue on the next phase of our Latin American
negotiations, we're working diligently to ensure the ARC System
complies fully with local government air traffic and safety
regulations. Based on our progress so far, we have established a
divisional headquarters in Latin America, and marketing plans for the
identification and penetration of strategic target markets throughout
South and Central America are currently under way.
"The mountainous terrain and densely concentrated population
centers of Latin America offer ideally-suited conditions and
tremendous opportunities for PLFM's ARC System. We believe our
state-of-the-art wireless communications technology is ideal for
telecommunications, direct broadcast TV, Internet, vehicle tracking,
drug enforcement surveillance, and numerous other commercial,
military and government applications.
"We also believe our ARC System technology gives us unparalleled
cost/performance advantages in ease and speed of implementation,
integrity and quality of the transmission signal, as well as in
equipment maintenance and upgrades."
"Latin America is a burgeoning, multibillion dollar market for
state-of-the-art wireless communications. We believe the market
opportunities we have identified for PLFM's technology may surpass our
most ambitious expectations. One of the initial ARC System target
installations has a population in excess of 10 million. It is
anticipated this market sector may yield a cellular subscriber base of
250,000 to 1 million consumers at $80 per month, or an annual gross
revenue potential of US$240 to $960 million. Specifications, terms,
conditions and revenue splits are yet to be agreed upon. My
negotiation team and I expect to be leaving for South America in the
near term," concluded Foote.
