Joe,

I was hoping that at least one of the brain dead analysts would ask about the speed grades they saw on that 67% yield lot. Judging from the remarks made about the performance of the CMOS8X process, I would hope they are distributed around 300 Mhz (not PR). But, without FPU enhancements, I believe the MII will not make money at any realizable speed grade. But, the 0.25u process should be able to get the GXm to 300 Mhz (and higher), fairly quickly. I think the GXm is Cyrix's only hope for this year. If they can guarantee volume of GXm at 300 Mhz in the September/October time frame, their could be a flood of $599 desktops and $999 laptops at Christmas. That's the best scenario I can think of. I have completely given up on the MII. Even the WinChip 2 will have a much better FPU and include 3D Now. I also couldn't believe that none of the analysts asked when 3D Now was going to be offered on a Cyrix processor.

Pravin.
