OK, here's what needs to happen:
Excel needs to get an Internet backbone, fast. Touch-Tone [ TONE:NASDAQ ] blew their wad building one, now it just sits there.
Then, they need to get IP telephony. So, they need to buy Franklin Telecom [ FTEL: NASDAQ ]
Then, they need set-top TV/phone/Internet capability. So, they need to buy uniView, the former Curtis-Mathes operation. [ UVEW:NASDAQ ].
Last piece of the puzzle: video telephony. For this, they need to buy Visual Telephone [ VTPI: NASDAQ ]
Then, they put these pieces together, and offer a complete communications solution to take customers into the next millenium.
Whip out your Platinum MasterCard Kenny, start peeling off some Green Stamps shares, and get busy.
All these acquisitions will set you back maybe $75 million, tops. When you're done, nobody will need any other "phone company" but Excel.
You're welcome, Kenny; just a little help from one Dallas visionary to another. |
