MikeM; That's what many American and European companies have been doing for years! That's the "Asian model" - the government , through banks , funnels free money to manufacturers who produce and export like an S.O.B. and kill the competition with low prices. No profit necessary - maybe no debt repayment necessary. WHY do you think so many of these countries have such a mess of bad debt tangled up throughout their labyrinthine financial structures? The debt just gets rolled and rolled until they can dominate a market and begin to make a steady profit. Doesn't always work though , and then we call it the 'Asian financial crisis" and run to their rescue! JMHO
(by the way , it looks like we finally have an administration in Wash DC that has the common sense to see what the game is , and the balls to play hardball when necessary. My hat is off to them. It's been a long , long time since we've had some financial savvy in the federal govt.)
