Brady, I just figured it out. Here's the theory of the day and a weekend humor send-off: At the Yacht Club, Hayton meets Meatchem in San Diego (they really did meet in SD). At the San Diego Yacht Club, Hayton meets Jon Tara, who I'm informed lives in San Diego. Hayton beats Tara in a yacht race. Tara becomes so pissed and won't quit harping on Zulu.
