This is a great quote...and should be phone user's (all of us) battle cry.

If Mr. Gore wants every phone owner in the U.S. to accept a 5% tax on their monthly bills for some reason, let him run around the country in 2000 campaigning for it.

Let's see how it would affect a typical household...
5% for phone line, 5% for computer line, 5% for cell phone number, 5% for Voice Mail number, and 5% for pager number. Then you can add you wife's cell number, other family members pager's etc.
