Royal Purple Becomes Associate Sponsor of AIS

Salt Lake City - Pan American Motorsports, Inc. announces that Royal Purple Synthetic Motor Oil, Palo Alto, CA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Automotive Performance Group Inc., was named the "Official Motor Oil of the American IndyCar Series". The company will also be an official associate sponsor of the American IndyCar Series, according to Bret Decker, President of Pan American Motorsports, Inc, the parent company of the American IndyCar Series and James M. Martin, President and COO of Royal Purple.
"We are pleased to have Royal Purple come on board as a product sponsor and associate series sponsor," commented Mr. Decker. "It certainly signifies that the product exposure provided by the AIS racing events is in line with the expectations of corporate sponsors."
"Royal Purple Synthetic Motor Oil has been proven in many forms of motorsports - midgets to sports cars to hydroplanes," said Martin, who recently joined Royal Purple after more than 30 years with Pennzoil. "We look forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship where the oil of the future helps the racing stars of the future."
This sponsorship announcement comes just before the American IndyCar Series PEPSI 100 event to be held at the Magic Valley Speedway, Idaho, on June 12, 1998.
