Hey! What is this "geographical psychology" you're spouting? If you want to say that certain branches of religion preach female submission, I won't argue, Biblical literalists of all faiths follow Paul's teachings on this and -but I find your Southern women comments troubling! The culture and behavioral patterns of the south are different for BOTH men and women, and for you to interpret, based on a limited frame of reference, that it's "submissive" in nature is presumptuous (and inaccurate!) I'm Virginia-raised and know far too many strong, dominant women to buy into this stereotype--Southerners merely assert themselves and relate in different ways than perhaps you are accustomed to. And perhaps don't really understand. ALso, given the geographical nomadism that's prevalent today, I think any basis for these types of statements is fast becoming obsolete.
It's this kind of generalization that you fight against so fervently when people talk about gays or pagans- Please don't fall into the trap yourselves.
You know, sometimes ---even if you are totally convinced you have facts and truth on your side-- it's better to stop and think when you make a comment that can be insulting to an entire group. The more one isolates, the more one tries to label, the more people one offends or angers inadvertently, and the less likely honest and open discourse can take place. Since I know that openness and kindness is what you desire, and because I know you would never mean to say anything intentionally to make someone feel bad, I thought I'd point out, that in some basic way, this bothered me. And why.
