sure DML7,

Its really quite simple. HiFD transfer rate is 3.6 MB/s whereas Zip is 1.3 MB/s. Capacity of HiFD is double at 200 MB. HiFD can read and write all of your old 3.5" 1.44 MB floppies, something that Zip will never do. Despite what many say, there are lots of folks who want to read their billions of 3.5" diskettes.

It will be mass produced and supported by a consortium of the major industry players. Economies of scale will drive pricing down to an attractive level for both drives and media. Please note that SONY is very motivated to replace the current 3.5" floppy that SONY invented and introduced in 1980/81.
