I agree with the majority of what you say in this post, but (there's always a but, isn't there) JVs with majors just carry their own trials and tribulations, for all their benefits. Look at all the JVs with Barrick and Placer and others - Homestake just got Prime for what will be seen in the long term as very little. It's the nature of the game that the major calls the shots and makes the schedule, and always to its own advantage.

Added to which, like you say, it's a wicked market. Recent commodity action and the kry loss in Venezuela aren't going to do it much good, either.

I think we should just crack jokes and sing campfire songs and flame each other once in a while just for fun until somebody out there makes a big hit and the US dollar balloon gets pricked and Johnny POG comes marchin' home and the lights go on again all over the world and there's bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover, tomorrow just you wait and see.

And maybe a little bottom-fishing as well, like sub-4.00 mpv ...... cheers
