Jess, .... and I thought I am the pessimist, until I read your posts. A friend of mine from HK recently described the situation over there as a "long economic winter". Are your pessimism purely self generated or are you influenced by the mood of the ex-colony? Since plane fare and hotel package (4 nights) is less than $500, I may just have to fly over and take a look for myself. You are right about Japan and China. As an academian, you have to agree that China has the right idea. Never knew any professors who worried about the practical side. What is the answer to the Japanese banking problem? More importantly, what do you consider as signals for bottoming in Japan? Ramsey
