No one is "doing" it to them!!! As an example I would cite the new NRA president, Charlton Heston, who went a very long way this week towards making gun ownership part of the Christian right's political platform. The Baptist's male-domination announcement at their convention did not help, either. America is rapidly moving away from the center, into two hostile camps, it would seem.
