It may be that so many have gotten so much better off that the lines between middle, upper middle, and rich have blurred. The so-called middle class people can do pretty much what the upper class can do. The uppers can't live a better life. More money doesn't improve life once you've achieved a certain threshold. Whereas most of the world hasn't reached that threshold, the majority here have. Humans apparently need to have significant differences between them in order to have an incentive to achieve. Achievement for betterment in a spiritual, artistic, or intellectual way isn't a priority of the materialistic West. We strive to improve our lives materially and now most have realized that goal. We can't use more money because it only brings marginal benefits. When this state of affairs exists, its time to go on a destroy what we've built orgy in order to create an impoverished state. Then we start the striving for material gain process all over again. There are fancy terms for this process, but you can express the same notion in a different way. What you see as evidence of the beginning of the orgy is the intensity of strikes. When the working man has it good, that's when they go out on strike. Very strange. They never do that at the beginning of the wealth creation period because they're still smarting from the punishments meted out during the collapse that followed the previous boom. When the orgy is fully expressed, the blurred lines come back into sharp contrast focus.
