DCF, it would be really nice if you could get beyond your concept that anyone who believes in God must also believe in Christianity. Are you familiar with the Deists, many of whom were fathers of our country? They were not Christians in any way, but believed in God as the creator. Many, many people have a general sense of God, but see a lot of fighting, pain, bloodshed and hate as men argue over their specific religious beliefs.

That insight does not make them any less devout than you are, however.
