Jim,

Not to try and dilute the message you are making with Pat, but
there are no shortwave emergency broadcasts available my the touch
of a button on the local radios here.

Traffic reports are broadcasted on every station exactly
5 minutes after every hour of the day wheather you want it or not.
The radio stations up their gain about 3db and go at it.

What IS built into the radios is the detection of the special
broadcast (traffic or emergency). Once detected, even if you
are listening to a tape or CD, your programming is interupted
to receive the report.

SW is prominent here though as you say. I think I get their
interminent bursts on my cable TV from time to time.

Keep up the good work...

Eric
