Short interest remains high for several reasons. Hedged funds will use their cover to run up the price as soon as things look better. Right now they are buying so that when they cover they can make money both ways. Currently Vivus needs to prove its statements that Viagra will eventually help MUSE sales. Weekly script data will be the only proof that will matter. International sales won't show much of an impact until Q3. The analyst know this and as soon as script numbers recover they will believe the true income potential of this company.
