It is most interesting to come back from a meeting at a hotel in downtown Kuala Lumpur this morning and read your post. In that meeting I learned of a group that has secured a very large sum of financing, to develop, with a clean blackboard, a drive for just the purposes you mentioned. Non-disclosure prevents me from saying more at this time but your observations about the import of that market and the role that a disk drive (with magnetic recording) could play in it.
