I'm not sure how much you spammed. 'tho folks have mentioned it. Don't bother. I won't stoop.
Don't be offended (bolster your long (maybe deficit position) w/DD, or get out).
I've boosted my confidence in DIXS.
Spoke to Eric & the DIXS Webmeister (sorry for the colloquialaism Daniel).
My thoughts were as follows: DIXS makes money by matching job searches on the web. How are they doin' on the web? Web hits, Search success, etc.? Well Eric M steered me away from that before I remembered he was the CEO...
...Eric indicated a number of things about factor increases in database (dB) size in the coming months (60-90 days). dB marketing to offer a portion ( still greater than competitors, OCC, etc.) of dB free w/remainder for fee; i.e., give 'em free data and sell the full potential of the balance...
He/DIXS also stressed the predominance of Topjob's dB's size compared to others. And, in addition, he mentioned that the size of the job dBase under their promotion may increase significantly, soon.
Discussed briefly the pros/cons of keeping things in house vice contracting out. We both agreed that the expertise should remain internal, and I was encouraged by his words that development of software and data management would remain in house. Eric's big picture perspective focused on the job dBase. He felt they have the biggest, and are looking to expand it significantly in the near future (by Labor Day).
Later discussion w/their Webmeister indicated just shy of 100k hits/day on their website. A conservative estimate of 2,000 searches/day, on a monthly basis. This has remained fairly steady since the switch from CD-ROM in ~ 10/'96.
DIXS strong on their distinction from typical recruiting agencies/headhunters. They charge an up front bulk fee for the jobs a company wants to list and a "per" from any other jobs to be offered in exceess of the contract quota.
He mentioned GTE, Noveell, Best, & LMMC (a DoD WOW) as clients.
I'm startin' to lose it. Hit me w/questions & I'll get back to ya...LB |
