To all - Question on forward selling.

I read on this thread that a number of gold mines have done a lot forward selling. Forward selling would inhibit a rise in stock value when the gold price would rise. NEM has been mentioned as one of the mines not involved in a lot of forward selling; they might therefore go up more relative to other mining stocks in case of a gold run.

Is forward selling a valid factor in selecting a particular mining stock?

Any reactions would be appreciated!
