IntelliQuest reports that 82% of Internet users and 23% of people intending to try it recognized the name Yahoo at the end of last year, up from 64% and 8% a year before. The numbers look even better next to the competition's: Only 8% of people intending to try the Internet had heard of Alta Vista at the end of last year, 6% had heard of Excite, and 3% had heard of Infoseek.
