Solon... your post brings up sooooo many points to ponder! Truth... tough topic... your statements touch on and brush against many of my own views on the topic. My statement was an encouragement to find your truth and support those that are in alignment... Speculation vs investing... I do not agree with your useage of the term (and looked it up in the dictionary); however, it is the idea that is important not the word. Point well taken. Part of the Rocketeer philosophy is to hold the stock of the chosen company long... how long?... long enough to allow the company to mature to the point where there is even greater shareholder reward than that received by trading over a short period of time. The timing is relative to the individual. People invest for all kinds of reasons and have varying levels of comfort about the risk associated with their money. I try very hard to not be judgemental about that for there are many factors that go into the reason for the comfort or non-comfort with owning a stock. I believe that each individual is responsible for their own investment decisions (another Rocketeer philosophy, by the way)... that includes when they buy and sell. Sounds like it is in alignment with what you believe. As to Forthright, Shell, etc.... I quit reading their posts a while ago. I see that they are here and I see the effect of their presence. They do serve a purpose because a lot of good dd is stated and re-stated in response to them; however, I do not find it worth reading the accompanying turmoil to get to that information. BTW, I was in several of Heinlein's stories. Lazarus, with fuzzy slippers still on.
