Will Novell meet consensus estimates?

Current estimate is $0.07 for quarter ending July '98.

My guess is that net sales will need to be at least $275 million, with expenses reduced 3% relative to Q2's percentage of sales, and have other net income of at least $12 million.

If customers, old and new, are waiting for NetWare 5.0, scheduled for release sometime in the summer of '98, will there be enough increase in sales to reach $275 million?

Here we go again: based on past performance, Novell may meet but is unlikely to beat the numbers. Perhaps with some creative accounting (new CFO) and stock buy back, Novell might just meet the $0.07 estimate.

Thoughts, anyone?
