Seems easily the best choice for the time being. It seems like a no brainer. It is recommended on most sites/threads If you want SCSI HDDs, you might look at the P2B-LS. The on board SCSI is an excellent Adaptec controller chip One of my work machines has onboard Adaptec SCSI. The bios has no option for SCSI boot target ID. I do not know why and how universal this is. I may want the three channel capability of the AHA 3940. Also I want the option to upgrade the mobo. Onboard SCSI will make it more costly. It is worth looking into when I look closer at the details. The Asus site does not list the P2B-LS. Somewhere I need the option to change SCSI ID to change the boot drive. The removable bay may give me this option. I need to spend some time looking at the onboard chip capability. The Asus manual will probably tell me if I can find it on line. The decision is between AHA2940, AHA3940 and onboard. One option might be the onboard SCSI coupled with the Mylex RAID controller. The Mylex RAID controller will do it all however they recommend using a separate controller for peripherals. Their reasoning is why waste a RAID controller on non RAID uses. It will take some time to sort this out. There are no current plans for a PCI version of the Matrox g200. This is the only reason I'm thinking about getting a PCI MII before upgrading my own system. Thats good news?? I can upgrade my Compaq now with the MII card. Let me know if you find out more details. I'd like to find an internal PCI modem that isn't a winmodem. Me too. I do not know if I have an available PCI slot yet. It might depend on how the P2B-LS works out. Thanks Zeuspaul
