Here's an interesting table. It lists the maximum % gain from 12/31/97 ASK to a closing Friday bid. Since data is only collected at the close of each Friday, it can't account for higher prices during other days of the week. Nevertheless, I will match the performance of these stocks against any NYSE or NASDAQ index you wish to pick.

BTW, the "true" maximums are actually higher than these since it is highly unlikely that the maximum return actually occurred at the close on a Friday. Remember, these are actual maximum OBSERVED % gains, not annualized yields. Also, remember that 100% gain is a double, 200% gain is a 3 bagger...and 500% gain is a 6 bagger.

In addition, LGOV, AVBC, ZULU, ESRS, RNTK, SETO, MINE, MIDL, and CSGC,among others, afforded one the opportunity to AVERAGE DOWN BEFORE their runups.
