jawd, even if the net were changing the rules, nobody knows what they are. why? they are new. so, why spend a lot of money betting on a company whose rules you don't understand as though it is a sure thing?

it makes no sense. it is irrational. you discount uncertainty. amzn doesn't have bricks and mortar (sp?). so what? their shipping costs are up to 20% of their product. is that substantial? it may be a higher % than bricks and mortar. hey, maybe i could run a bricks and mortar book store and sell at amzn prices and lose money just like amzn. wouldn't that be special. i'd bet NOBODY has done this kind of analysis. why? why do it. bulls in a bull market don't need facts. just tell them what they want to hear and make money off them. however, i bet the market changes from greed (current) to fear in 0-6 months.

if they steal massive market share from traditional outlets (if, if, if, if - it is no sure thing) then do you expect those currently profitable outlets to sit idle and not change their business plan? lower prices?

i think the longs are being incredibly irresponsible with their money. amzn is not even close to the best place to put long money in this market.

i also think the longs have no idea what the value of the net is longer term. it is information transparency - to the customer. billions of dollars are made by business b/c of consumer ignorance. the net reduces this ignorance due to the free flow of information and also those billions in profits. this is the power of the net. eventually wall sweet will figure this. it may be a long time. i'm used to being light years ahead of wall sweet. they are paid to not think and tow the party line. we know the current party line. it will change, however. when it does i plan to be there. not with a short. i will never underestimate the irresponsibility of people, especially with opm.

you may not believe me now. but you will...
