George has been very busy of late., and my posting time has suffered. Hopefully after the next few weeks., I can comment in more detail., on this thread O Peter man. Just a few comments., Gold and weak Asian markets have not aided the cause of the diamonds., and the recent upheavel by DeBeers henchman on the Southernera thread has created much a real odor on the diamond front. However., the rich deposits will be rewarded. The Hearne deposit is looking good., the DeBeers entanglement of Southernera is troubling. The most obvious conclusion is that DeBeers should forfeit all mining rights., and add more lawyers to their manifest., seeing they are experts at stealing deposits. Take heart though the cracks are opening., Sierra Leone., Angola., Canada will be forces in the future., inspite of DeBeers underhanded tactics. DeBeers will be forced to make fair market offers to the Abers., the Southerneras and the Rexs of the world to satisfy their need of maintaining rich large stone deposits., the Jwaening is their crown jewel., the Orapa a marginal gem quality producer along with the Venetia., the year 2000 opens the door for Argyle to become a non-event., DeBeers is supporting the market for large stones., and letting the market slide for marginal rough. It as well makes little sense to expand Orapa in a slidding contracting market. Select you spots very cautiously., but be prepared to buy the best money can buy when the opportunity arises. My shopping list is as follows. Diamet Minerals. Aber Resources Rex Diamond Southernera Mountain Province DeBeers Winspear Not in any particular order., just choose your entries at depressed prices and be happy you can buy at discounted prices.
