"Mike, on June 3rd, INTC announced that they had no plans to issue "earning guidance" in the near future kind of implying that INTC will not warn (at least as of June 3rd, they still had a month going in the quarter)."
"At this point, I can say that we do not have anything planned for today," said Intel spokesman Howard High, when asked about the rumors on Wall Street that Intel might pre-announce a second quarter earnings shortfall. "I am not aware of any plans to change our guidance," High said. "At this point in time, we don't have anything scheduled to change that (previous guidance)."
Zeev, I meant to post exactly what Intel said before I made my comment on INTC. Sorry. So I went back and found it. Even with a cable modem it wasn't easy. Have you seen the number of posts on the Intel thread. Wow! It's almost a religious fight over there. But I finally found the quote above. I hope it is accurate. I'm guessing you don't believe they will warn. They may not, but personally, I remembered their spokesman said it in a funny way (It appears my memory was correct). But you may also be correct with your assumption, that they may not warn. The spokesman may have worded it, so carefully, simply to avoid a lawsuit.
If you don't mind, let me ask you about the rest of your post #4516. Are you saying you don't expect a summer rally now? I thought you mentioned you expected an upturn before June 24th in your earlier post. Did I mis-read your earlier comments or am I mis-reading your latest post?
Also, if you don't mind, what's this about your "outright bearish" comment? I'm assuming this is from a purely technical perspective, right?
Thanks for your comments, MikeM(From Florida) |
