Nathan,

I am not an options player and I am not versed in the art of options playing.

My one observation on vivus options though is that the market manipulators will tend to move the price to their own benefit.

If there is more interest in calls they will keep the price held down.

If there is more interest in puts they will move the price down.

Whatever works to steal your option money.

Currently, I feel that the worse is over on the Vivus hammering.

The cat is out of the bag as to Q2 earnings.

There are still a lot of questions hoovering over Viagra.

Vivus has a series of good news to unfold over the next month.

Personally I would avoid the purchase of protective puts.

There is not much left to protect these days and the question then is are you trying to make a few bucks on your position while Vivus hangs in limbo. Vivus is too volatile to be writing puts at present levels. We can see a run to 10 just as quick as we dropped to the 6's.

I would avoid the puts because i would tend to think that at 7.5 or 10 you will set yourself up to lose your stock.
