I had another far out thought. Lets say MEMC did get into financial trouble. It seems to me that the United States would not want to lose their only domestic provider of silicon. A case could be made that it would need to be saved for strategic purposes. Not that I am a big fan of government intervention like Chrysler, but a case could be presented.
