"I tried more than once to find out if Seimens was involved in the project."

As far as i know the westphalia trials are just done with Orckit. appr. 500 lines. FYI: I heard last week that Ron Sommer himself will have an Orckit Modem on his desk at home!

Siemens was testing in Mnster. Livevideos from university classrooms to student appartments.

DT people told me on CEBIT that Orckit, Siemens and Alcatel equipment were the most testet and most favorite ones. They told me ISDN interop., ATM- und Routing-functionality are the most important issues. (as well as DMT-compliance)

CIBC Oppenheimer Corp. issued Company Report
Posted: June 12, 1998

On May 6, 1998 CIBC Oppenheimer Corp. analyst Lior Bregman issued a 4 page Company Report on Orckit Communications Ltd. Report highlights: "The 1998 EPS estimate was lowered to ($0.87) from ($0.80) to reflect slowing HDSL growth and accelerating ADSL sales. The company's success in winning large contracts and the customer's rate of adoption will ultimately determine revenues and profitability. The 1999 EPS estimate of $0.70 was maintained. A STRONG BUY rating was maintained with the 12-month price target in the $30 area. The company just announced a third strategic alliance agreement with Fujitsu, targeting Asian and European carriers with its FastInternet system."
