judy...u were asking re: cmgi, here is something u might like 2 know. GeoCities is 35 percent owned by CMG Information Services (CMGI), a holding company that owns parts of several online businesses, marketing enterprises, and a venture capital outfit, CMG @Ventures, which holds the GeoCities stake. CMG hasn't said what it will do with its share, but generally, the firm slowly sells off after one of its companies goes public. Softbank Holdings, which owns 30 percent of the company, also hasn't disclosed its plans. Other GeoCities investors include Yahoo, Intel, (INTC) Chase Capital Partners, InnoCal, and Flatiron Partners.
Underwriting the offering are Goldman, Sachs & Co., Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette., and Hambrecht & Quist. The bankers hold an over-allotment option on an as-yet-undisclosed number of additional shares. GeoCities' Nasdaq trading symbol will be GCTY.
Snaring Tom Evans was quite a coup for GeoCities. |
