National Semiconductor. Here is a company that has been traditionally focused on analog and integrating trailing edge technology into the bulk of their product offerings... the results so far? not too good. We are supposed to believe their forecasts on future market trends when it is just that which has continue to put their earnings in the toilet, quarter after quarter. Techie, I will give you partial credit and an apology. He did in fact say "We believe 70% of all PC's sold by this time next year will be sub-1000". He did not qualify that statement further. You would get full credit had you become aware of this prediction by actually engaging in a conversation with the CEO (as you infer). My assumption about your identity still stands none the less. "We believe" should be replaced with "We hope" cause that's just how much trouble this company is in. Sounds like they need the market for cheap PC's to make this hyperbolic leap within 12 months or they're toast. Clearly, he disagrees with IDC who predict 25% sub-1k penetration by 2001. This is not just a slight disparity in thinking. Thank you Techie, I have learned something. Continue to avoid NSM stock. MEATHEAD
