Hi Jim,
I know I've been quiet 'cause I've been busy; but, my general analysis of the CC was that GS is going to control costs to turn a profit in the short run, and expand the hospitality base to increase that profit in the long run (short interpretation).
I note that with the $5M charge, they lost $6.7M. So where did the other -$1.7 come from? Learnstar? IWN? Out of control G&A?
If the FCC finishes their paperwork (I expect that they will approve the application) soon enough, we should definitely see a profit in Q4. If not and they turn a profit anyway, it would be great news. If they lose a little (<$100k) in Q4, I'm not very concerned. If they lose money in Q1 1997 for any reason, I'd be VERY concerned. (just pulled up another browser to check some NTN 1995 numbers: TOTALLY revamped homepage: ntn.com I see that their financial info now points to a paid service. Greedy %&$#@!.)

Optimistically, I can see this company earning $0.30 - $0.40 per share in FY 1997 for the hospitality division. That's about $7.7 million for 22M shares. That will be MUCH lower for the company as a whole and it's GS's job to turn this cash cow into shareholder value.

MHO

Rich
