My guess on the big drop in October is that it was due to mutual funds wanting to generate capital losses to offset capital gains in other positions. As much as I hate to admit it, CUBE's relative performance in 1996 sucked (thankfully I'm long since Oct. 94). This helps minimize taxes to shareholders and gets rid of "problem stocks" that are hard for the fund manager to justify holding. There may be a similar drop (although probably of smaller magnitude) caused by individuals doing the same thing in December. That would be an excellent opportunity to buy some Feb calls.
