Jeff and his partner! They had been suspicious of the activities at Muffy's house, so they waited outside in the darkness. They had followed Muffy to the strip bar, and having been made aware of the activities by one of their favorite informers, expected the worst. They then followed Kevin and Muffy as they rode around town and ended up at Kevin & Janice's apartment. Fortunately for Muffy, they broke into the apartment in the nick of time.
Stunned, Kevin dropped the ostrich feather he was holding between his teeth.
Janice, in a fit of rage, lashed out at Kevin with the whip, leaving a huge red welt on his right butt cheek. Kevin grinned.
Jeff grabbed Muffy and covered her with a blanket. His partner scooped up her clothes, and they exited Kevin & Janice's apartment quickly. As they were leaving, Muffy noticed the WSJ opened to the NASDAQ listings, and was surprised to see USAW circled with a black hiliter.
"USAW again?" said Muffy.
As Muffy dressed herself in the back of the police cruiser, Jeff and his partner discussed the events of the evening. "What do you think about this USAW thing?", asked Jeff's partner. "I don't know", said Jeff. "But tomorrow morning, I'll get my broker to check into it."
On the trip to Muffy's apartment, a beat up Harley rammed into the side of the police cruiser, causing Jeff to lose control. The cruiser crossed the sidewalk and crashed into the front window display of a Lingerie store called "Sassy Stuff". |
