scar. Jeff remembers the night he had an emergency appendectomy, and how the nurses giggled when the doctor sewed up the incision. The little smiley face in one corner will always be with him.
Jeff ignores the laughter, and asks Muffy "So, what's all this I hear about USAW? Is it a buy, or what?"
Muffy, unable to believe that this hunk of a man would rather discuss stocks than perform sensual acts, rolls out of bed and runs into the bathroom.
Jeff, distraught at the thought of what he has done, slowly dresses and leaves Muffy's apartment. It's a long, lonely ride home for Jeff.
When he gets home, his wife is waiting at the door with a worried look. He reassures her everything is OK, then slinks off to take a shower.
Meanwhile, back in Muffy's apartment, Muffy is crying her eyes out in her bathroom. "How frustrating", she thinks.
The phone rings. It's TED ... actually, TED's imposter ... and he wants to know where that little piece of paper is. He didn't get to read it before he dropped it. He wants Muffy to tell him what it said.
Muffy arranges to meet him at the corner mini-mart in 10 minutes.
